Getting to know the Executive Board

I have been working in the teaching field for 29 years, and have been a member of PEAL/OEA/NEA for 27 years. I have worked as an executive board member for the last 5 years.

While on the executive board, I have been the secretary and the vice president. I also have been the chairperson of the READ ACROSS AMERICA committee. I wanted to be on the board because I wanted to be more involved and be a part of the decision making process. I also want to improve the image of the organization and teachers in our community.

The most memorable PEAL related thing that has happened since I have been on the board is that there has been an increase in membership and member involvement. I will never forget conducting the shortest meeting on record, when the fire alarms went off at Tomlinson Jr. high school.

The funniest thing that has happened while at a PEAL related function is walking down the stairs in L.A. When the fire alarm went off at 4:00am with my mom and two sons with me.
